Step 2 ck practice exams reddit12/19/2023 Other times I really couldn’t narrow down. With the time crunch I often tend to miss the deets that make one a better choice. and lo and behold all 5 possibilities are listed as an answer choice. They may give you a really confusing scenario where the patient can have 5 disease processes happening at once. These answer choices refer to random tidbits that Professor KnowEverythingMedski may have put as an addendum to slide 56 during your second-year immunodeficiency lecture you most likely slept thru. There‘s really no good way to prep for these, it’s like you either know what they’re talking about or you don’t. I’ve seen a bunch where they give you a scenario for a common disease, then throw at you answer choices that seem like they have nothing to do with the disease. Now the other half is where things get interesting- Definitely on the tricky side, and had more 50/50 guesses than what I’m usually comfortable doing. But don’t let your guard down yet for these questions, occasionally they disguise the right answer or a key presentation through extensive use of the Thesaurus (i.e., using a phrase to describe inflammation that your 10th grade english teacher will probably give you a C- for). For every section, around a third to half of it were stuff I’ve seen before (used mostly UW + some anki here and there), as in the disease they’re testing you on are stuff that are more common, they give you typical presentations, and your answer choice is a standard treatment for whatever it is. For my exam, I felt like there really wasn’t a single section that was harder than others, contrary to some other people’s experiences. Practice scores in the 230s-240s for NBME and UW.ġ) Questions: I’ve been warned they‘re going to be hard, and they were hard. I think posts like these really helped me out beforehand and I hope it will for you as well:īackground- pretty average student grade and testing wise so take my advice w/ grain of salt. I feel like having a better idea of what to expect can really decrease the anxiety so I’ll try my best to explain without breaking nbme’s privacy policy. I know a lot of you are anxious about this test, just wanted to give back now that I’m on the other side.
